Licence automatic validation

Information to pilots flying outside the EU with an aircraft registered in a EU Member State other than the country that issued your Part-FCL, Part-BFCL and Part-SFCL license.

A pilot intending to fly outside EU on an aircraft registered in a EU Member State other than the one that issued the flight crew licence shall carry, in print or in electronic format, the latest issue of the ICAO attachment, which includes a reference to the ICAO registration number of the agreement that recognises the automatic validation of licences within States, as well as the list of States which are party to this agreement. This includes the countries within EU and Switzerland, Norway and Iceland. You will find the attachment here:

All ATPL, CPL, PPL, BPL and SPL licences issued in accordance with the requirements of Part-FCL, Part-BFCL and Part-SFCL in point XIII will be endorsed with a remark regarding Automatic Validation.

If you have been issued above mentioned licence without the Automatic Validation remark and you need it, you have to send a written request to: fcl@caa.gov.lv
